Why can't the Politicians in this Country make Health Care affordable for all?

Question:
Health care in the USA is all about money. Young people don't care cuz they think they will never use it.., trust me, when you get older, you will use it to squeeze every bit of life you can. Spain has health care for all their citizens. Their Tylenol doesn't cost $8.00 a pill. Our medical insurance is only insurance for the large companies that keep us on THEIR DRUGS. It is not FOR THE PEOPLE. It is time that this changed. Too many people PAY for Insurance..., and then find out that procedures that they need..., are not covered. There is too much red tape in our medical insurance. Insurance should be insurance and being covered should mean that you are covered. Big companies should be severely punished for BRIBING politicians and doctors alike. To see an elderly person whither away to nothing, in pain day in and day out, and to know how much they PAID thru the years...,all for nothing.Shame on our politicians. They have a great health plan that you and I pay for but don't get to use.

Answer:
I think that politicians don't care because it doesn't effect them directly. they are wealthy. so, their families, and the people they know are covered.. also, I feel that the HMO's are part of the palm greasing ( they help pay campaign costs for the politicians)...
Because HMO lobbyists don't want it. It'll cut their profits.
its all about the almighty weakening dollar unfortunately. i was lucky enough to see SICKO by Michael Moore even though its not out yet but it explains a lot and our country is pretty crappy in certain ways particularly in this field and i believe it all started with while Nixon was in office.
Are you familiar with socialized medicine? No thanks! People are not flocking to say, Canada for the latest and greatest medical breakthroughs.

My daughter has had 5 heart operations in 15 years and there is not other country I would have trusted her life to. Everything was always covered.

Her cardiac surgeon has done several surgeries for poverty stricken children from other countries- all at no cost to the child's family. That is why Tylenol is $8, to pick up the costs of those who can't pay. No one is ever turned away from a hospital because of inability to pay.

As far as red tape. If the government is involved, you can guarantee it would be a bureaucratic nightmare.

Older citizens are covered by medicare. There shouldn't be any reason they cannot get medical treatment.
