Want our Polititians to come up with REAL Health Care Reform?
Question:
I am a Conservative Republican so I do not back a Government Run System. If someone is wealthy they have every right to whatever Medical Treatment they can afford.
However shouldn't our Elected Officials, Dem. or Repub., use what they give us? After all they work for US, right?
This is not a Dem. or Repub. issue, it's an American issue, so no political bashing.
So what do you think?
If our elected officials had to use the same system we do, do you think we would get meaningful reform in about 30 seconds?
Answer:
Do you even realize that you're advocating turning your medical care over to a large group of ego-driven lawyers?
I don't want the politicians to fix it. Everything they fix ends up more expensive and much worse than it was.
The government pays for 65% of the medical care in this country now. It got so expensive and messed up precisely because they have deep pockets, plus they demand an amazing amount of paperwork.
4 healthcare lobbyists for every member of Congress. How can you compete with that? Are you sure you want to?
Are you sure you want to government deciding when it's cost effective to treat you? You can't sue them if they deny your treatment.
Over 65? "Sorry, we don't treat cancer past 64-1/2. (That way, you'll die before we have to pay you your Social Security) " It's only a policy away if Congress gets involved.
We should go back to the days when we paid for our own doctor visits, and the only things insurances covered was catastrophic care.
Look at Katrina. Look at the lines in the airport. Look at the VA system. You really want those people to run your health care?
Because I don't want them to run mine.
Remember, "Ask not what your country can do for you..."
Yeah! Go for it!
Im for getting the insurance companies out of health care, they are the one's responsible for the huge cost increase's. Everyone wants to scream the government is the bad one but really it's the insurance companies causing the trouble. The solution should be a coop health care system that everyone pays into at a low cost and it should be overseen by the doctors and a citizens advisory board. After all aren't the doctors the one's who know whats best in health care, they should run it not a insurance executive trying to make huge profits, heck the insurance companies never want to pay if they can wiggle out somehow.
