Question:
Ok, I've been starting a weight gaining plan. I'm a 5'6" male that weighed 105 lbs. when I started a week ago. I'm also a XC runner that took a week off due to other health concerns, and gained 5 lbs. from that break. This whole week, I've been eating a lot and taking the right stuff to gain weight, consisting of Whey Gold after I lift and run (2 times a day), Cell Mass after lifting (after running if I am not lifting that day, 1 time a day), and Muscle Milk right before I go to bed. I also eat a lot of peanut butter, fruits and veggies, oatmeal, meat, eggs, milk w/ the protein powder, etc, usually all totalling upwards of about 300 g. of daily protein. I am at 120 lbs. right now, but I think it would be better to get closer to that 1.5/1 ratio of protein to body weight and eat more spread out meals. Can my protein shakes count as meals themselves? What else could be considered a meal, and how should I separate my portions. TIA
Here is the bad part. As much as you run you're killing any chances of gaining weight. I was 150 going into the summer of my senior year of HS and made it to 190 for football by eating pasta nonstop. It's all about how much you eat. Eat all day and not just 3 meals a day. Eat 6 to 8 meals and always have something in your hand to snack on. I have a block of cheese and some beef sticks right next to me now. Just eat eat eat.
