Is this a solution for universal health care?

Republicans keep things the way they are (every person for themself) and
Independents are allowed to choose between the Democrats universal HC or the Republicans fan for yourself plan

Nobody has suggested Universal Health CARE! Are you thinking Universal Health INSURANCE? Since someone is now paying for all the folks without insurance, I can't see how a plan where everone pays in something can't work..there will still be co-pays and deductables and the health providers will still be 'private industry'...plus, these folks will actually get paid with a lot less hassle. If we could get a single payer plan in operation I doubt if many 'republicans' would opt out..it's an idea whose time has come!

I think they should just offer a government insurance plan that charges according to income, which would be totally optional to participate in.
Sounds great to me. And since I'm a con, my taxes won't increase. Correct?
Don't like it. As much as I don't understand why republicans fight health care for ALL Americans, I wouldn't want to exclude them. I think a giant first step would be to make health care not for profit and get the insurance companies out of health care. Just look at the money executive management from both industries costs us. We could probably save at least a billion dollars from the CEO's of those industries. We can figure out ways to make it work if we truly cared more about our citizens than our wallets. If we won't do that at least health care for everyone until they are eighteen.
