I'm Canadian and I've been talking to friends about universal health care a lot since Michael Moore's Sicko came out. In my opinion, health care is a basic human right (like food and shelter) and should never be privatized.
I live in a province with a shortage of doctors. However, if I get sick I can go to one of numerous clinics and wait a short period (less than an hour) to see a doctor...free of charge. Doesn't matter if it's a cold or a splinter.
I would not consider moving to a country that did not provide their citizens with care since I believe it's a reflection of the values of that society.
