Why did it take almost 3 years for PLAN B to be approved for “over the counter” use?
Question:
The FDA said Barr Laboratories, the maker of Plan B, could begin selling the drug.
Many social conservatives in and out of Congress have battled to keep the drug from becoming available without a prescription. Some say that could encourage promiscuity, and others say use of the pill causes a very early abortion. Their position had for almost three years trumped an overwhelming medical and scientific consensus that the drug could be safety dispensed by a pharmacist without a prescription. Why do the Conservatives always try to put road blocks in front of issues related to women’s health issues, without having the right facts?
Answer:
The religious Right (Wrong) is against medical/scientific progress unless of course it benefits their bottom line $$$$, a sad FACT with the current criminal administration. Do as I say and not as I do, The hypocrisy and exclusion is truly unbelievable.

dangerous?
Because a lot of people have personal religious objections to the product, and in this system religion still has a lot of control over how the laws work.
because the US government won't be happy until it has laser tagged our ovaries and high jacked our wombs.
Because the far right believes that every time a woman uses her dirty girl parts and doesn't concieve a child, the baby Jesus cries.
Pardon the FDA for wanting to make sure that a self-performed abortion is safe first. If the baby has to die, at least they're making sure that the mother doesn't have to, also.
I don't see it that way. I think that most people tend to forget that Conservatives are not putting a road block in front of woman's rights they are protecting the right of the unborn. However most people that support abortion deny the life that they are fighting to kill, it is much easier to deny something exsist than to face up to the fact that one faction condone's murdering of innocence. There is a great pill out their called birth control and a wonderful new invention called a condom, or an even more radical thought, abstinance. Anyway, thats my thought. Great question!
The GOP had all the facts, they chose to ignore them. Seems to me that the GOP still thinks of women as second class citizens.
The FDA acted as a political entity which, in my opinion should result in the termination of all those who delayed approval. The FDA has been charged with protection of American health not as an enforcement tool of the political beliefs of the executive branch.
I agree with mymadsky here.
Also,if men needed paln B,it would not even "B" an issue!
