Question:
The script deals partly with children in therapy, touching largely on the Doublethink theory in Judith Herman's "Trauma and Recovery". I need personal stories and experiences from doctors and therapists, as well as routine answers about how a diagnosis is made and a treatment plan created. Any thoughts or assistance would be wonderful.
Are you talking about people in the mental health industry for like a movie or what do you mean?
My suggestion is to contact school (college) counselors. While they are not directly in the "mental health system", they have contacts and will be able to direct you to the professionals you want to speak to. I would think that being referred would be a much easier "in" than to contact them yourself.
The families of the children would be helpful in telling the story you want to share and should be consulted. Again, a contact in the academic community would be an asset in making these contacts.
