Matrenity benefits - which health insurance to choose?
Question:
Answer:
Employer-sponsored health insurance is less likely to have a waiting period. So if you can get coverage through your employer, or through your husband's job, it probably won't have a waiting period. But check to be sure.
Also you could try an HMO, such as Kaiser Permanente, to see if they don't have a waiting period. but probably most do, otherwise they would lose a lot of money, since having a baby is very expensive.
If you are poor, your state's Medicaid program covers prenatal and delivery healthcare for pregnant women, but you must meet income and asset requirements, in other words be living in poverty.
either through your employer, or depending what state you are in you may be able to get title 19 or whatever your local DHS office offers, good luck
contact WIC or welfare and get on Caresource. They cover everything. Good luck and have fun!
