Should we have free health coverage in USA?
Question:
I say HOORAY!!!
How is it possible that the most powerful country in the world don't have health coverage for its citizens, at least for the children.
Answer:
Universal Healthcare is NOT free. We would pay for it in taxes. Look at the European countries with socialized medicine, upwards of 50% of their income is paid in taxes. Canada has high taxes and there is a long wait for some treatments and procedures.
They do have free health coverage for children. That is why all them beaners come to America to have their anchor babies.
I think there should be a system to help those who have no coverage and can't afford it.
The government can't run it's self. Why should we let it take over Health care. The idea of free health care is nice, but letting the government run the system would be a huge issue.
The whole idea of "free health care" shows how little you understand.
Free to poor people who leach off the system. But not free to the working people who wind up paying for it all.
No. You are a freeloading leftist if you even suggest it. Thats Socialism, the primary enemy of american capitalism
No. US has the best health care in the world.why ruin that?
There should be programs though that allow low income families to buy into a health care program at a affordable price.
Edit:..Hahaha.you must be kidding! England has the BEST health-care.dream on "dear".
While all may have access to health-care... the quality and accessibility(waiting time for appts and procedures) to health-care is far below that in the US...when people want a specialist...they come to America!
I pay my own bills...including my health-care.Thanks for your concern though.
Have a great day!
it is not free and never will be as long as you pay taxes to support it. I would support a "universal health plan" in which all Americans were eligible and the amount of taxes used to pay for the plan were much lower than insurance premiums now being paid. We have to do something to reform health care. Currently , one out of every six dollars spent in the U.S. is spent on health care. that is way too much.
here's a question for you. why do the rich people come to america for medical treatment?
in answer to your question, because we have competition for our medical services, they have incentive to be the best doctors in order to get our business. without that incentive, most medical treatment would just become OK at best. the wait times would be horrific, red tape would become ghastly, and just the level of care would be diminished significantly. look at how the government has screwed up the education system. they are in charge of that, do you really want them to come and screw up our medical care.
another point is that just about everyone who wants medical care in the united states, gets it. free medical abounds here in the US proven by any mexican who comes to america to drop a baby. free health clinics, medi-cal, county hospitals all take care of childern and most adults. THINK OF THE EXPENSE, look at our education system? is that they kind of medical care you want?
ask people from other countries with socialized medicine. not healthy ones, those waiting for cancer treatment or a hip replacement. they suffer and die waiting.
Well the lexus dealer is not obligated to give you a car that you can not pay for therefore i do not think doctors should have to work for free.If you can't afford health insurance then upgrade your skills and get a better paying career instead of a dead end job.
maybe for children until the age of 18 ,problem is if doing nothing for yourself is encouraged certain members of society are inclined to sit back and let someone else do for them
we should have what we work for. hard working Americans should not have to bear the burden of those who will not take responsibility for their families.
No, absolutely not!
1. Government is untrustworthy and incompetent. What sane person would give them the control over a significant portion of the economy and control over their own medical treatment? No thanks!
2. There's no such thing as "free" health care. It's paid for by taxes, and those taxes will increase. If you look at other countries with socialized medicine, you will see an ever-increasing tax rate to pay for this, and it will consume a significant portion of the government budget, and over time treatment will be rationed.
3. The government does not have Constitutional authority to do this (or any other socialist / welfare program, actually). The 10th Amendment (not repealed that I know of) states that what is not specifically given as a power of the federal government, they have no legal ability to act on it, unless it goes through the Amendment process. Do people really support such lawlessness if they agree with the ends? Do people understand how this lawlessness destroys our freedoms and rights?
There you go! 3 logical and comprehensive arguments against nationalization of 15% of our economy.
Yes. That is what a rational, truly caring compassionate society does. Unfortunately Republicans are the opposite of that.
Nothing is free. The taxpayers will pay for it!
