Universal health care?

Question:
Would you support this plan,

For a payroll tax of 6.5% and your employer paying 6.5%

Having a plan for $55 per month with a $100 annual deductible and then 80% coverage thereafter, WOuld also include prescriptions at the same rate.

Do you think this would be a good idea?

Answer:
How about this one...everyone regardless of their income pays 1% of their income taken out each week and health care is free for everyone. Works in Australia and Canada and the UK. And you can buy private health insurance if you wish but you still have to pay the 1%. That way everyone contributes and everyone can use the services.
No, for the simple reason that most health care follows the principle of "the agency paying the bills makes the decisions", whether it's an HMO in the US or national health in the UK and Canada.

It is every individual's responsibility to provide for their own healthcare. I am healthy. Even using your $55/month plan, I would still pay more in health insurance that I would collect.

Why should the healthy subsidize the people that don't take care of themselves physically?
