Can a health insurance provider (that you don't want) demand personal data?
Question:
Answer:
not if you dont do business with them.
No especially not your Social Security number they don't need that stuff for anything. I would talk to your human resource office or maybe even trying calling the company yourself and talking to the customer service people. But whatever you do don't give them that information because they can do a lot of damage with it.
No they do not. If you are not signed up with their health plan and have no intention of doing so, they have no need of your personal info. I would do as a previous person suggested and go to your HR dept and see if they can get this fixed. The only people I can think of that may need this info is your company itself so that they have a record of who's on the plan and who's not. That's ridiculous of the insurance company to tell you that they need a record of someone that's NOT using their services. Seems like a waste of time to me. If they continue to be so pushy, I would make it clear to them that you do not intend to do business w/them and that you will report them if they continue to be this way. That's harrasment!!
