Government Funded Health Care?
Question:
Answer:
Probably would since the governments job is to poorly manage any program they have there tentacles in. How would the people paying the taxes on this program feel when they see a hospital technologist making more than a police officer, or a teacher. It is an ugly issue, especially with GWB in office. But I will agree, a change is needed, and soon!
I believe that they would have to work harder for their money. Also, those who are currently in medicine to get rich and do not care about their patients will leave the profession. Those who really care will stay. Hell, there goes most of our doctors!
I suppose the best example would be America's armed forces. Their medical care is funded by the government, and the doctors and staff who work in navy and army hospitals are considered government employees. It doesn't effect the salaries of the health care workers because they typically get what the average health care worker in that state is getting. And they usually get paid quite a bit more than someone in a private practice who must personally go out and network their patients.
Government health professionals do not have to seek out their own patients, are ALWAYS guaranteed patients, and will get paid NO MATTER how many patients they see in a day. Plus, their benefits are excellent.
