Disallow Health Care to Illegal Residents of the United States?

This will bring health costs within line to provide better health care for the citizens and people with Legal Residence in the United States. Illegal people are bankrupting our health care system.. The government ignores this problem. All you have to do is walk across the border, and receive the best health care for NOTHING.

Here's the problem: what do you do with the sick illegals? There are some 10-12 million of them here in the US. Do you make emergency rooms refuse treatment and dump them out on the sidewalk to die? There is a federal law that compels hospitals to treat anyone and everyone regardless of ability to pay. So where do illegals go? To the emergency room, the most expensive care available. Because they cannot be turned away--federal law requires that they get treatment, illegal or not.

While I completely agree in theory that Illegal behavior should not be rewarded, in the "real world"--what do you do?

The answer to your question--I think you answered it yourself. "The government ignores this problem." The govt. has made it easy and profitable to hire illegals, so illegals are pouring into the country because they want to work. I believe 99% of them are here to work and earn money to send back home, not to get free healthcare. If there were not so many jobs waiting for them, they wouldn't be here.
