How much do executive perks and bonuses add to the cost of a new car?

Question:
It's often said tha the cost of a car is increased about $1500 for retirees health plans. What is the cost of all those bonuses and perks for executives?

Answer:
That’s a tough one, particularly if your looking for a dollar amount or a percentage. But I suspect in either case the number is small for the following reasons. (1) The number of executives is a fairly small number. (2) While their bonuses appear large to us working stiffs, compared to the over all expenses of huge corporations the total dollar amount is also pretty small. (3) The industry as a whole is producing a huge quantity of vehicles per year, over 16 million (?), and that’s just cars, which doesn’t include medium and heavy trucks, trailers, etc. (4) Some “auto companies” have significant sale of other products over which the cost of the pay/bonuses would have to be spread.

Having said all that, a quantitative number would be interesting.
