Petsmart Banfield in Kingsport, TN or Johnson City, TN?
Question:
If so, how are the doctors and staff?
Do you recommend their services?
I am thinking of signing up for one of Banfields health plans, so I was just curious what the level of care is like at these facilities.
Thanks!
Answer:
I have been to the one in Johnson City, and I would reccomend finding a local vet to take care of your pets. The big chain seems to lose sight of the animal and just worry about the money they can make. I live in Mountain City, so I take our dogs to the local vet. Highlands Animal Clinic in Abingdon is really good too. Hope this helps.
I don't know about your PetSmart but...
They taught me to potty train my lab in less than 48 hours without punishment.
The groomers were able to clip the nails of one of my rescue chihuahuas where others have had to sedate her (No kidding-wow). Excellent services.
That said. You might want to ask yourself why get a health plan? If you're looking for catastrophic... look for a Vet Hospital not a clinic. For shots, a shot "clinic" held at low-income clinics and pet stores are the way to go. For spay and neutering services... there are usually places that specialize in those services operating as a non-profit.
Good luck
level one
All petsmarts are different but I recommend going to a local veterinarian instead of this national chain. I had a bad experience with my local Banfield in Ausitn, TX. Most of the health plans do not save you money unless your dog needs catastrophic care such as after getting hit by a car, so read the information carefully before you buy the plans.
Banfield really does a good job of finding qualified personnel and the health plans are amazing. I was with Petsmart in NC and they were fabulous. I am in an area that Petsmart doesn't have stores now. The care is thorough and caring and very inexpesive if you belong to the program, it is worth it.
