What do Americans think of the UK and the British?

i am an American girl, and I think British people are proper and have more manners than most, except the punks, lol. I would love to have some British friends, I think it would be fun. anyhow we think Brits are neat and find the accent amusing , often copying it and making jokes. I wonder if Brits think we have an accent, especially us Californians.

I've had many Brit friends over the years. I have met them as they are here doing temporary work. I find them very proper..especially the women. As you get to know them they loosen up and are quite funny. Don't try to outdrink them though...they are good.
If you get over there, check out their locals for a good time. I wonder if they still close the locals early or if they changed that.
As an American girl, I really swoon to the accent, it's the best. I would say I view the British as being a bit stuffy and proper, just like everyone else has said here, but not in a bad way, just different.
I really like British humor, or at least what's portrayed in the movies. Spot on for my taste.
I've met a few people from around the London area. They were all really nice. A bit "stiff" at first, but they lightened up. Not all British people are the same (of course), but from what I can tell the UK is a fine place.
It is all about the accent! Absolutely lovely!
Also, while I stayed in Prague last summer, I was able to hang out with some Brits and had a fantastic time with them.

I would love to move to the UK....
I love watching Brit TV shows & like hearing about the culture. I'd love to visit! I even watch shows like International House Hunters to see what homes there are like. It's fun learning some slang too.
