How can I become a certified Spanish teacher? Online course preferable.?

I have been thinking about starting my own spanish tutoring business in North Carolina. I speak spanish fluently and would like to have some sort of certification to back it up. I am not sure where to begin. Any ideas? Thank you.

In order to get certified, you have to complete an education program with a student teaching component. That's the only way to get certified-if you somehow found a program online, no one would take it seriously. If you want to tutor, I'd start small and just advertise your services at local colleges, call high schools and middle schools, etc. As you build your own reputation, you can slowly add more students and begin an actual business from there. You have to start small and work your way up since you aren't certified. If you still want to get certified, you'll have to go through the same process as any other teacher. Best of luck!
