Im currently taking an online class. I find it easy to get behind. I have to post every week online about the current topic for the class and I have a weekly quiz and homework that has to be postmarked and mailed to the prof. by monday of each week. You say your going out of town. If you don't have a 3-4 hours a week per class I wouldn't atempt it.
I'v taken a few online classes. Don't be fooled. They are time consuming, more so than a classroom deal. You will usually have to spend about 3 or 4 hours a week. But the advantage is you can do it anytime, 2 pm or 2am. Just keep up cuz you can get behind real quick and make sure you log on and respond in the first week so the prof doesn't drop yo ***. I agree with the first comment and also once you log in to the class on line, you should be able to communicate with other classmates and that should be useful too..good luck!
