What is the best printed or online source to learn the basics of histology and histopathology?

Question:
I am a biologist and I'm now learning new techniques including immunohistochemistry. However, I have no histology background to help me troubleshoot my staining. Does anyone know of begginer books, seminars, online courses that will help me out?

Answer:
For basic histology, I recommend "Color Atlas of Histology" by Gartner and Hiatt -- it's a good, basic text with lots of pictures that illustrate what they're talking about. It has a companion textbook ("Color Textbook of Histology") as well, if you need further elaboration, without all the pictures.

For histopathology, check this website:

The pictures are very classic for their given pathologies. If you need explanations, Robbins and Cotran "Pathological Basis of Disease" is probably the most authoritative source you can find -- it's not completely histo-oriented, but it's pretty heavy on it.
I don't know much about the subject myself, but I did find this:
