How are online courses in college?

Question:
Im thinking of taking one over the lecture, or is that a bad idea. Also how do tests work

Answer:
At my university, I usually prefer to take the online version since I can do my work at any time of the day. Depending on the course though, I would have to weigh the options. I would not take a science or math course online because I would want a teacher to explain things more clearly in a lecture than through streaming. But my literature classes are much better to take online because I don't need to listen to someone drone on, and history classes are okay online for me for the same reason.
If you are confident in your ability to do the work individually and to make the time to do your studies, you should be okay.
Depending on the professor depends on the tests. I have some that have actually made me travel to campus and take proctored exams, others do timed exams online (they trust us not to cheat, or openly say we can use our books). Sometimes there are no exams at all, but papers based on the material.
Try to acquire a copy of the syllabus for the course you are considering. This is my way evaluating an online course before signing up for it.
don't know, never taken them, but for tests, i'm pretty sure you have to go to the school and take them.
I've heard they are pretty tough and very time consuming, good luck!
Easy.

Such courses are easy and people don't appreciate them because they would think that someone else took that course for you and earnmed your grade.

The tests are with a time limit. However you can always use your book, or a person who took that course to help you. If you can, don't take such course.
Due to the nature of online courses, your in class participation is usually replaced with electronic bulletin board discussion participation on a platform such as Blackboard or ECollege.

The assignments are submitted electronically, usually in Microsoft Word or Excel to be graded by the instructor.

Depending on the University, Exams are taken at an on campus testing center or sent electronically to a pre-approved proctor who is their when you take the exam.

Whether to take it or not depends on your preference. Online courses take more discipline to self start on assignments. It's a matter of whether you can prefer/need to have a live instructor or can read / comprehend independently and email an instructor when questions come up.
