Funding for courses?

Question:
i am living with my fiance we have 2 kids and i work full time and she works part time, can i receive any funding with an online course as we haven't got the money spare for it?

Answer:
In the UK you can occasionly receive funding for a part time 'distance learning' course via the part time Higher Education Student Support System. However as the name indicates the course would have to be Higher Education level (i.e. Degree, HND, Foundation Degree, DipHE).

Also it is income assessed on yours and your wife's income although allowances would be made for your children. And the level of support isn't very much, it's a course fee grant and a small grant for books/travel (£250 a year).

You can receive funding directly from the Open University if you choose to do one of their courses but you would need to check if you was eligible.

However if neither of these situations are relevant to you then the only other option open would be to apply via a high street bank for a career development loan, these are available for undertaking vocational courses.
If it is through a community college or university accepting FAFSA for its online courses, I recommend filing for it. It is based on income and savings besides family size. If it accepts FAFSA money, it should be under the financial aid link or button on the website.
