Hmmm, well, most folks are "drawn' to a certain social organization because they have a self interest in it. This self interest can be based upon the need of the person, their religious belief system, the need of a family member or a loved one, the recognition that the organization can better society, which in turn may prove to be something that a person is interested in. Most "social organizations" are based on self interest and vary from cooking clubs to fund raisers to provide tuition for a young artist, to one that supplies goods and services to the poor. I think that by nature, a social organization is a type of primary gathering of folks in society that have united to pursue a specific or global interest. I wonder if anyone can identify a social organization where poeple come together that is not drived by some form of self-interest?
temporary!

Seriously, it sounds like the basis for capitalistic liberalism which is that society functions best when individuals are free to pursue their own enlightened (hopefully) self interest.
