Anyone ever got a Master's Degree online? What are the best online schools?

Question:
I'm not good with long standardized tests. Will I have to submit GED scores? I also only have a 2.5 GPA from my B.A. degree. Will that prevent me from getting enrolled. I screwed up on some science course that brought my GPA down, but I'm not dumb. I want to learn and get a good career. Also, are online colleges cheaper to take? And how long is a Master's Program? Thank you for answering. Online courses just make me a little skeptical with the way people rip you off these days.

Answer:
Getting your masters online is perfectly acceptable if you get it from a tradition university, on your transcripts it will not list anything about getting it online. Do not enroll at one of these career colleges or better known as for-profit schools like University of Phoenix or AIU. These schools have no admission requirements and have a very bad image. Visit www.aiutruth.com to learn more about these schools and this website also has great information about finding a good online school.

If you find a good school that you want to attend but you think your gpa is to low, try your hardest to get a good score on the GRE. Take prep classes and read all the books that are out there. Don’t let a test get in the way of a better future. I wish you the best of luck!
Online schooling is great, but not as accredited as going to an actual college. That's the catch that all of these "quick online degree" schools don't mention. Most palces will take into consideration the amount of actual class time you have, and base their hirings thus. Most people learn better in a classroom.Online classes are great, but online degrees are frowned much upon in the buisness world.I would never hire someone with such a degree. It is hard to attend college when you are busy, but when it comes to knowledge,in class time is your best bet! :)
There are plenty of online programs that are very good. However, some of the better ones do have gpa requirements. Just make sure that the school you're interested in is acredited. Usually online colleges that are universities are the better way to go, not that the other are not, ie. University of ... They're also tend to be more expensive as well.
Artemis' is right about acreditation. Ask about it before getting too deep. If you can fight your way into a real university somehow and then survive it, your sheepskin will be printed on heavier paper.
Whether you decide to go to an online school is up to you. I just want to clear up the confusion on accreditation.

Online is a delivery method. Accreditation is a review process.

Regardless of delivery method (on ground, online, hybrid), a higher ed institution in the US can have 3 institutional accreditation statuses.

1. Regionally accredited - the highest and most useful. (Everyone from Stanford to University of Phoenix are regionally accredited)
2. Nationally accredited - real, but not as recognized or useful. Yes it is less than regional accreditation, which isn't intuitive.
3. Unaccredited
