I have never been placed in a position of hate, however, I am subjected to hate indirectly everyday. Because I am gay, when somebody calls somebody else a ******, or queer, that also effects me. When they ban gay marriage, or take away civil rights, this also effects me. I am always susceptible to hate and bigotry.

Sorry to be a spolier here but all crimes are hate crimes, race, gender, religion and sexual orientation don't matter a baboons hiney, if you punch, kick, kill it is from hate, period.
Yelling at someone is not a crime, putting someone down because they are differnt is not a crime, that is a character flaw.
Fortunately I have never been a victim of hate crimes. However, I am currently working with the Human Rights Campaign to get new hate crimes legislation passed.

The only hate crimes I was a victim of was when I was in elementary school and high school and other kids used to pick on me because I was fat.
Well, that still goes on today.
I was in an all white community and when I got out of school I went to a big city. Got a job where my immediate superiors were black. They were some the nicest women I ever came in contact with. Guess I haven't been much help.
I have never been the victim of racism. but i was recently FALSELY accused of discrimination, of making racial slurs.
and i can tell you that there is no recourse if your falsely accused. there are protections for the "victims of racism" from retaliation. but once you are accused, guilty or not, most people assume you are guilty, and the damage is done.
You should go google the names Channon Christian & Christopher Newsom.They were a young white couple that were both carjacked gang-raped sodomized & mutilated by 5 black people.
i dont have the answers for your essay, sorry, but i can say that it all makes me sick, to hate someone for the look of there skin is ridiculous. it is just a description of a physical trait.
do you hear of people hating all blondes? of course not, its pointless.
