Are online college courses considered "full time" for health insurance purposes?
Question:
Answer:
Yes. The definition of full-time will be in the school catalog. Traditionally, for the 16-week semester--full-time is usually 12 credits for undergraduate or 9 credits for graduate.
BUT if the semesters are condensed, full-time might even be one course at a time. Check the school's Web site to see what they define as full-time. The online is not an issue.
Full time is considered 12 or more college credits whether they are online or on campus. Most schools require students take at least one online course now so they deffintly count toward your student status.
