Which is better, school, correspondence course, online classes?

Question:
I am 41 yrs old and am wondering what other people think. Can you actually get a degree by c. course? online classes? Has anyone out there done any online classes?

Answer:
A lot of people now are taking online classes and getting online degrees. Below in the references section I have included a link to a blog/forum site that you can get started looking at. It's specifically written by and for people who are not sure about or have questions about online education and online classes and it's a great place where you can interact with real people who are actually taking online classes.

Personally, I think that online education is great. It gives people the opportunity to further their education, even if they can't physically get to a college. It opens up doors and opportunities and you don't have to give up your day job or every day life in order to take advantage of it.

You can do a lot online! In the references section I've also included some other links that might be helpful with beginning your research into at least the online area of education. I hope that it helps!

I would find out which ones are acceptable to businesses, particularly in your field of interest. Other considerations are cost and which one fits best with your schedule.
Personality is one factor to consider. I am interested in correspondence or online courses, but know that it would not fit my personality. I would not get the work done.

I also feel that personal opinion goes into the decision. I don't feel that correspondence or online courses are as good as attending classes at a school.

I do agree with the previous answer that you also have to consider the costs, your schedule, and what field you are planning to go into.
There are accredited colleges that offer classes in different formats. Check out the wed sites, contact the school/s, ask people you know, check with your State Board of Education, call the high school counselor in your area, etc. I do most of my continuing ed online. It is a super way for me. I know people who have done classes online and loved it.

I am a former high school counselor. I don't know were you live. Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas, has lots of online courses and is accredited.

Good Luck!
I have taken classroom courses, correspondence courses, and online courses. Personally, I felt like I learned the most in my classroom courses, there is nothing like being face to face with your professor on a regular basis. I thought the correspondence courses were the worst. The online classes were a lot of fun, but don't attempt to take one unless you are really comfortable with using your computer and the internet.

I kind of feel like there is a negative stigma with taking online and correspondence courses. In my experience they haven't been as much work. In my conversations with others (friends and my professors) it seems like most people believe that they are not as much work and that they are not as hard. Classrooms courses are probably the most respected.
