Question:
I have an Associate Of Science Degree in Film from Full Sail Real World Education, which is a Film School in Florida. I got the Degree from their 13 month Degree program. Since I've graduated I haven't had much luck finding film jobs. I've heard that Full Sail doesn't look to good on my resume to employers. I've been thinking about doing some online courses since I work full-time now. Has anyone had any experience with these online Universities?
Answer:
Employers tend to treat online schools as less reputable than 4-year universities. I considered getting an MBA from the University of Phoenix but spoke with several senior managers at my company and they all advised against it. They told me that when they are down to two candidates of similar education/experience, they will give more weight to traditional universities.
Employers do not regard online degrees with the same strength as traditional 4 yr schools
