I am thinking about taking some online courses through the Jr. college.?
Question:
Answer:
I loved taking online classes. Here are some pros and cons to take these classes. Im talking from experience as well.
Pros:
You can do it on YOUR schedule.
You dont have to drive to the campus. Saves gas
You can go anywhere there is a computer. Even from work if you have an desk job.
You can take your test from home, which is open book! Unless you have to go to the school and take the test.
Cons:
You have to be able to be motivated enough to the homework.
If you don't understand something, its a little harder to get a response. Ie. Email the teacher and wait for them to respond.
You don't get lecture notes sometimes, sometimes the teacher doesn't put enough energy into teaching the class, that you are left hanging. And its harder to ask questions.
Sometimes there might be a malfunction in the system you use for the course, that things may get lost. Happened to me, but the teacher was understanding and let me turn my work in the following day.
I loved online classes, but ssometimes I fell back b/c you think oh I'll do it later, i'll do it later and then later comes around and you have to hurry and get your stuff turned in.
It usaully works like an indpendent learning class, you turn in your work once a week and corrpsond with the instructor when you turn in your work or via email, it's not bad.
