What questions should i ask an online school?
Question:
I'm thinking about taking online courses. What questions should I ask to make sure I am making the right choice of school?
Thank you
Answer:
I suppose i'm not really answering your question but:
Thinking about it?
Do it. There is no better way to go to school. Especially if you've already been an on-campus student or are over 40.
But remember, they are NOT easy. Anybody who says negative things about them has never taken one and is talking poop so they don't have to take one. They'd rather watch TV.
There are two types. "online" and "correspondence" Research the difference. In the end, however, they are the same. Myself, I like correspondence. You may not. Correspondence is usually self-paced and self taught with very little interaction with the teacher and zero interaction with other students. You mail the lessons in or at some schools submit them using the Internet.
I was "thinking" about taking one for a long time. Now, I am constantly enrolled in one and wouldn't take a class any other way.
But again, I wouldn't trade the on-campus experience to go online. College is more than a collection of courses. But they are a fantastic way to learn. Especially if learn is what you're trying to do.
And yes I agree with that other fellow. I'd stay away from completely "online universities."
What is your accreditation? How old are you (the school not the person)? Do you offer job placement assistance? What about financial aid? What are the technical requirements?
Are they accredited. Find out by who and check. The best place to take on line classes is through you local community college or university. Many offer online programs. Be weary of the completely "Online Universities".
