What do you want to see in an online psychology course?
Question:
But I was wondering, what kind of things (such as topics explored), would you want to see in it?
Answer:
how to sucessfully address child abuse, DID and the connection of the health of the mother (lack of enzymes and toxicity of her system being down loaded to the fetus and its effects to the extreme of downe syndrome)with regards to the adhd situation. Relationship of genetic memory being past through the gene pool and some basic things like that. Thanks for the oppurtunity to share. Good "Luck" !
social and personality psych - scales and methods
Freud is pretty interesting. Dreams. Temperments. Psychosexual stages (Freud).
Outside of normal stuff like the different theories of Psychology, you will need pictures, access to psychological journals, and interactive study tools
I'd say definitely some of the abnormal (DSM requirements, etc.) and physio or neuro psych (intro to neurotransmitters and hypothesized/proven relations) that people seem to crave, but I'd also suggest a topic centering around the widely varying specialties of psychology - i.e. the emerging forensic field and industrial/organizational (I didn't find out that I/O was a career option until my Junior year of undergrad - now I love working in this field).
I'd love to see something about why people help others. We spend so much time thinking about negative behaviours, as in abnormal psych, and we rarely emphasize positive behaviors. Why are there heroes? Why do people give blood? Why do they donate to charity, even anonymously? I think M. Scott Peck in "People of the Lie" says, "All six year olds lie. Why do grown-ups tell the truth?" or something like that.
