The best online courses are, not so ironically, computer courses. Anything in the computer field is a great way to go. It pays well. The benefits are good. It's interesting. Try taking a network administration or internet tech course online.
Communications. I took my first and only online course when I was pursuing my degree in Communications. It was awesome. It was highly interactive, thought provoking and I never had to leave my apartment!
Don't think that you'll just log on to a website and see the material online. I had class every week in a school sponsored chat room. The professor lectured a little bit, but he more or less opened topics for discussion. We also took weekly quizzes online. However, what was very interesting was doing research and presenting your report online via PowerPoint.
I always thought online courses were a cop out, but depending on the criteria of the class, it can be a better than sitting in a real class room.
Not all courses, I think, can be done online, but it will be a standard for many other classes in the future.
