when people stop giving them their hard earned money...but that isn't happening anytime soon. MONEY supports organized religion, not a collective belief structure.

Who is stopping you from worshipping independently? Do you require a special building in which to do this? If so, you have to play by their rules... If not, seems like you don't really have a problem, now do you?

I thought that is what was going on now, with all the different religions out there. One can chose to belong to whatever religion they want. We all have a God given mind to chose!

There's just too much established structure and institution. Certainly, you are aware of the changes that have been happening in the last 30 years with worship styles.
Now, there are actually religious rock concerts. I don't go to them, but I figure, what the hey, if it makes them feel good, enjoy.
And of course, you're aware of the really radical cults that wear camo and carry weapons.
Some people just can't let others alone, cause they're convinced that their way is the only way.
People form groups for many reasons. Only religion seems to get criticized for it.

Now that is a fine question...If an individual has the discipline to conduct their life in a manner that is good, and which is pure common sense based on everything they know to be right; why would they continue (as they do ) to manipulate the words of their chosen religion to suit themselves.

if i had my way id close down every church,mosque,synagouge and temple today.id tell the dogmatistical learned practioners of religion to forever hold their piece.for instance take the pope.an ordinary man born of the flesh yet somehow this man is infallible and sits on a gilded throne in rome issuing papal bulls for an organization steeped in a history of corruption and death.the other christian/churchianity organizations are not exempt either.religion should be a personal sacred relationship between only you and your conception of god.it should be an offence to convert,advertise and make any money from religion.their assets should be converted to the common good of the world.they own land stolen from people through wars.they control banks and their only access to power and control is the dumb stupid acceptance of people who shop around for salvation.look within instead of out.you dont need a priest,vicar,rabbi,imman,llama to know,all you need is love.im sure if jesus returned he,d chase the moneystealers from the temple and close the whole edifice down.

Worship what? It is man's nature to want to believe in something higher than himself!. True faith is not dogmatic or authoritarian etc. That is in the eye of the beholder
