Any one have experiences in online courses taken??

Question:
I want to go for my Associate's Degree. Thanks~

Answer:
I've just started Uni and I'm doing my first subject online at the moment. I found it pretty good once I learnt a bit more about computers(I was mildly Internet illiterate). Had to get broadband to download files quicker. I like the fact that I can listen to the lectures when it suits me and not on a strict timetable. The biggest problem I've encountered is group work. It's much easier to work face to face. That's my experience anyway. Good luck with your study.
I took couple online courses in community collge, and the best part was that you don't have to attend class meetings. But you have to be at home on your computer at certain times for discussions, tests, and quizzes, and the tests are harder/more difficult because you can use your books and notes. Try a few courses, and see if its for you.
Most classes are very easy and all tests are obviously open book. You have to be a self-starter. If you prefer being lectured to vs. reading on your own, then don't try it. Don't let your self get behind in your reading, it can be very easy to fall behind.
I'm currently studying for my Associates in Education Paraprofessional. I atten Kaplan University onle (kaplan.eu). It works great for me- twice a week I have to be online for an hour long class, I must participate in discussions (think message board) and I have a due date each week for assignments. It works far better for me than a traditional brick-and-mortar college.
I have taken quite a few online classes along with classroom classes, and I thought the online classes would be a breeze since I could do the work when i got around to it as long as I met the deadlines, but I was surprised to find out that the online classes seemed to be more work and more stress than regular classroom classes. The worst one was a history class because I would always put off the reading, and since you don't hear the teacher lecturing about the chapter during class, you don't get anything out of the chapter unless you actually read it, and the chapters were extremely long and boring.
