Does the Hd directv make a difference?

Question:
Thinking of buying the Hd box...but my question is...is it a big difference? I know u need a hd tv to,the programming. Also heard that they are coming out with more hd channels(150)and a new satellite...should i wait for that?

Answer:
Of course you need an HDTV set before you can watch HD programs. Otherwise, the receiver will just downgrade the signal to standard broadcast, which would make no difference at all with what you're getting with regular programming.
Hi Saul,

A friend has it and you can tell the difference but if you don't have a HD TV then there is no point.

I can wait myself. When I get a good HD TV and a few extra $$ maybe then I will go for HD but to tell the truth I am pretty happy with my standard TV picture.
