I am suscribing to dish network and getting the hd package. Will i get my local channels in hd with there sati

Question:
I need to know if i will get my local channels in hd, they are availible, with there equipment or will i need to buy an over the air antenna? I am having the system installed in a week and would like to buy the antenna so they can install it if i need it. I have a samsung lnr-328w hd lcd tv.

Answer:
That depends. Do you receive your local channels over the air, or with a seperate dish?

If it's over the air with an HD antenna I'd need to know which HD receiver you're getting from Dish. I'm pretty sure your Samsung doesn't have an ATSC tuner built in, so running it through your Dish receiver would be the only way to view the local channels in HD but not all receivers offer that function.

If Dish offers local channel service in your area then you won't need any additional equipment.
I dont think you'll get your local channels through Direct TV, I bought an antenna for them, but it still wouldnt hurt to ask, they may be an extra charge on your bill though.
Dish network would be able to tell you for sure, but if you are getting the channel through Dish Network, and Dish Network supports HD you will probably get your local stations in HD.

You may get the local stations in HD even without DN's help if the only way that station broadcasts is in HD.
