Playstation 3 on HD format?
Question:
Answer:
Okay, the first guy has no clue what he is talking about.
Yes, there is a setting you need to select on your PS3. Go to the XMB and get to the video settings. Select the HD HDMI output you want (my tv has up to 1080P). The screen will go black. What you need to do now is turn to the video input channel your TV has set for HDMI (on my TV, video 7 is for HDMI only). It will ask you to confirm if this is the video output you want to choose. If you wait too long to choose it (30 seconds, I believe) it will assume you didn't want to change and it will bring the previous video setting back on.
Hope that helps!
well ps3 had an huge issue with their HDMIs.the first ps3 didn't even have 'em on there and many of them were sent with malfunctioning HDMI and missing HDMI cables. yours might have a manufactures defect.
the only other thing i can think of from the info you provided is that... make sure your AVI cables are not connected while using HDMI.
HDMI is for audio and video both so pretty much don't connect the avi cables with the HDMI.
you have to go in your setting and go to display setting from there choose HDMI then it should work fine
you should get a free playstation 3 from this site instead of buying retail
breakdown 1942 is talking sense,
one other thing to check is that u know whether your tv is capable of 1080p or 1080i if u you output from your ps3 at 1080p and the tv is only 1080i capable u'll get a black screen.
also make sure the cable u bought is 1080p capable even some of the most expensive ones sold by comet and currys are only 1080i capable
