Hd dvd movies vs hd television ??
Question:
Question is. is image quality of the movies you see on hd tv channels as good as a movie you would watch on on an actual hd dvd movie player. I know that hd dvd movies can play in true 1080p but my tv only can do 720p or 1080i. I've heard the quality of hd dvd movies is jaw dropping.
hd dvd movies on HBO are great quality but I wouldn't call it amazing... would i notice a difference?
Answer:
HD-DVD has a better picture, cable & sat. has too travel through so much line & wires to give you that good picture, you also get outdoor interference from somewhere with both of them & HD-DVD & BLU-RAY give you the best hd picture in it's rawest form with the closest connection possible, not a big difference but side by side there is a difference (i've seen it myself)
I work for a home theater company.
I have the hd dvd add on to the xbox 360, add the hd dvd movies look as good as hd tv. It is better than the hbo movie channels.
Pretty close its hard for me to tell from HD HBO and HD-DVD
oh and to clear things up you're Plasma can only do 720p, it may say you can do 1080i but its just rendered to its native resolution
Only CRT's can do Interlaced
I can tell you that so far the hd movies I have seen vary in quality. Some are no better than the regular dvd. I have also seen some real grainy stuff on old films on dvd. Forbidden Planet looked great! Goodfellas looked dark in spots and somewhat disappointing. It depends on the movie and if they did a good job.
