I just bought a New HDTV, and cannot recieve a few channels. Very Disappionting!!?
Question:
But, I am not getting a Major Channel: Fox (59)
This would be 59.1, but nothing comes in.
My Dad got an HDTV before I did, and he Used to recieve Fox 59.1, but now he cant get it either!! I can only recieve the Analog Channel 59!!
And yet, in 2009, the Analog channels are going away!!
So how the heck am I going to receive my Channels?!?
Am I one of the Few that have such a Problem?!? Or, are there others with the same Problem?!?
Their are other Channels that my HDTV found originally, but can't get them now!! But all I really care about, is getting Fox to come in!! Thats one of my Favorite Channels!! :P
Oh, and I live just outside of Indianapolis, IN - just to give you an Idea of my Location, if needed.
HDTV terrestial channels do not JUST come in by typing
thier channel number
Ill give our Local set up
2-1 found on channel 20
4-1 found on channel 13
6-1 found on channel 15
7-1 found on channel 8
22-1 found on channel 20
28-1 found on channel 30
Do you know what the transmission channel for 59-1 is?
If not there is an autoscan for the TV it will find any available
Analog UHF/VHF
the look for CATV channels
then Digital channels
On most HDTV's there are 2 coax inputs
one for Analog and CATV (analog)
and a second for Digital
make sure you have a antenna in the Digital coax jack
before doing a channel scan
Also you can call your station and ask for their HDTV
transmission channel
You can manually add it and it will rename itself from the digital header info recieved
Also when you call them ask if they are transmitting DOWN time is normal with these newer HDTV towers
Try channel 45. That should be your digital channel for WXIN. For other channels that you are not getting you may need to get a stronger amplified antenna. It sounds like you will get some signals sometimes, and others at different times.
Antennas are directional. You have to point it in the direction of the broadcast tower. Have you been to antennaweb to determine which way to point your antenna?
