What is the best way to hook up 2 Dish VIP622 HD and DVR dual receiver's?
Question:
Answer:
The device that you are looking for is called a splitter. I don't believe dish will send them out. You will probably have to go to Radio Shack to get it.
Remotes: You will need an additional 2 UHF remotes to operate tv 5 and 6.(right now you should have 2 IR green tab and 2 UHF blue tab for your dvrs) You would need to see what the remote address is for the tv 2 to address it. (menu 6-1-3 in box J next to rem addr will be the number to address. (to address new remotes hold down the sat button until all four lights on the remote light up then press the number you saw in box j then #, then record button. Now that should be addressed for the remote to work.
Now if you have your 2 DVRs hooked up then all you have to do is go to the tv2 take that cable off and put it into the splitter then have coaxial cable (rg-6) for the two outputs on the splitter. One will go to the current tv2 and then run the second coax to the tv you want to be the same as tv2 (3rd tv). Then repeat this for the 2nd TV2. This will allow you to have 6 TVs and 2 copying the 2nd tvs.
If you were hoping a different setup, like it copying from tv1, email me and I can walk you through the different ways to do it.
Hope this helps, and if you have any more questions feel free to email me.
