What is going on?with my cable?

Question:
I just got a Vizio VX32L and i hook it up and flip through the channels. ( i have regular comcast cable) and i flipped past the cable channel limit for my area (67) and then i got to a channel number 71-2 it was discovery HD i new we didnt get that channel on any other of our regular tubed tv's then as i flip i see more and more channels labeled differently (for example 77-8 or 102-4) as i notice some of the channels are the same thing but twice ( for example i saw MTV regular cable channel 58 and another MTV showing the same show and episode except some weord channel 73-11) what is up with it. also these extra channels look like a better picture quality except it says it is still broadcasted in 480i SD.i dont understand... THANX

Answer:
You have a digital tuner in your new TV. You can now decode digital channels, but as you can see digital is not necessarily HD.

As for the channel numbers 77-8 is channel 77, sub-channel 8
102-4 is channel 102, subchannel 4. Since they are digital they will be either come in great, or not at all. There is no fuzzy picture with digital. As more digital channels come on line without any real notice to you you may want to scan for new channels once a month or so.

The tuner in your TV is either a QAM or an 8VSB tuner, unless there is another digital cable tuner that I don't know about.
