My dish network tv keep changing chanels W/O me!! HELP!?
Question:
Answer:
It is possible that a neighbor's remote could be interfering. especially if you live in an apartment. I would suggest that you call DISH Network and complain. Tell them that you think you will switch to DIRECTV and they will become very very helpful.
I think you have a poltergeist operating in your home. You should check to see if your house was built on the site of a former graveyard.
Seriously, the place to start is with the remote control. It could be sending out spontaneous infrared signals that're being received by the set-top box. Try putting away the remote so there's no chance that the IR beams are reaching the box's sensors.
If that doesn't work, the satellite provider's customer service phone line is your next step. It may be necessary to change the satellite decoder box, or remote control.
Dish boxes can be set up on different remote channels, you may have to do a search on how to do it but the default remote channel is set to 1, set your upstairs to 2. This should stop the inrference of the two systems.
