Can someone help with a HDTV question?
Question:
I'm guessing I have to now notify Comcast that I have an HDTV, right? And then I'll get a new cable box with connecting wires allowing me to view these channels?
Any help with trying to get my HDTV viewing experience off the ground is much appreciated. Also any help with how to watch movies in HD is also appreciated.
Answer:
You need three things
1 HDTV cable box,
2 pay a slightly higher subscription
3 HDMI cable to connect the box to the TV.
There are also a couple of non-cable solutions - an HD DVD box and a Blu Ray box, together with the disks that go with them. In all cases you will need a HDMI cable.
Yes, comcast offers HDTV as an extra, the HD channels will not work in HD unless you have HD cable. Goodluck
Yes you need to contact your cable provider for HDTV
To watch HD movies you have 2 choices and both are difficult. You can go with HD movies or Blue Ray movie. Blue Ray is actually a better picture quality but it is also more expensive.

That will do a comparison against DVD, HDDVD, and Blue Ray.
Once you make your decision you will need to buy a HDDVD, Blue Ray DVD player (remember PS3 has a blue ray dvd player if you like game consoles.) Here is a list of DVD players
