Dish TV or Direct TV?

They are really about the same. I like the deals better with Dish and I hated Direct TV's customer service. That is the reason I switched from them. If you want many hi-def channels, Direct has more but if that doesn't matter to you, look at the plans that they offer. Look at the promos each is having and the contracts. Also ask friends and family about each. You may be able to help them get a lower bill if you use them as a referral and they may be able to get you a certificate for a lower price as well. I know Dish offers those incentives anyway.
I like direct tv's menus much better. Also, direct TV will have over 100 Hd channels by September. Granted, you need the dish with four antennas to get that, but it is going to be by far the most HD channels available thru any single service.
Also, The Direct TV has tons of XM sattelite music stations.
My grandparents have dish network so they can get the italian channels which are not offered with Direct TV

i have had both and dish is 10 times better
I prefer DirectTV because I love football and DirectTV is the exclusive carrier for NFL ticket where you can watch every game in HD.
Plus someone already mentioned the 100 HD Channels.
But, if you don't care about either of those I doubt there is much difference other than pricing.
