Can you tell me about your good or bad experiences with Dish Network vs. Direct TV?

Question:
My husband and I are thinking about switching from cable to satellite and we are a little nervous about the whole dish thing. I know they're better than what they used to be, but are there still frustrating problems with satellite? Help us make a decision.
Thanks.
Satellite TV works a whole lot better than they use to as you said. The funny thing about cable trying to make remarks about not to use a satellite for TV because it's bad and weather can do this or that..if you go to where a cable companies main office is and look around the back, guess what you will see? SATELLITE dishes LOL They don't have the problems they use to have years ago, if they did I wouldn't be in a 2 yr contract with them, if they did. I am very picky when it comes to my TV and I work in the Telecommunications industry so I always want the best.:) I have sold both satellite and cable. I personally prefer Direct TV over Dish Network. I love HD TV and Direct will have over 100 HD channels by the end of the year, no one : cable or Dish will come close. I also love NFL football and Direct TV owns the rights to Sunday ticket where you can watch up to 13 different NFL games at one time. I hope this was some help :)
I have Directv and i like it very much. You will lose the signal during very bad storms but usually not for very long. I've had it for a few years now and they have improved it greatly (I used to lose the signal every time it rained). The picture is digital and very clear.

Where I live it is cheaper than cable and I get more channels. They also give you free movie channels every once in a while and they recently gave me 24 free pay per view movies for being a good customer.
Hi,

I'd clearly vote for Dish cause:

- cheaper
- more channels and more variety
- awesome picture quality

You might check out http://www.dishnetworkbargains.com... - They currently run some promo with free Dish and DVR you might take advantage of. If you have any questions just call 'em up, they are professional and helpful.

Hope that helps.

Best wishes
