Which Satelite provider is better? Dish Network or Direct Tv?

DirecTV has more channels for less price, better customer service department, you can purchase a DirecTV Tivo (NOT from DirecTV any longer) and modify it VERY easily so you can connect it to your homes Wired/wireless network so you can transfer the shows/movies to DVD.
DirecTV has/will have MORE HD channels than ANY other provider very soon, they just sent up another satellite this past week..

You should get cable.
It is cheaper, has more channels, is more reliable, and has more features.
I have Dish right now and I absolutely hate it!! Everyttime the wind blows here we lose the signal. I have had Direct before and I loved it, it is that when we moved here it wasnt offered so I had to go with what I could get. But now it is as if I am paying way more for the service and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt and the installers and tech people are so slow to help fix problems!! I would get back with Direct, that is what I am soing first chance I get!!
Really they have most of the same programming, cost about the same price, and you get all digital channels but here is the difference. DishNetwork has more friendly and reliable service, DishNetwork also is the leader of High Definition, with 32 true 720p high definition channels, so if your going to be buying a hdtv in the near future or have a HD tv now, DishNetwork is the way to go.
For what I wanted, DirecTV was better.
I love DirecTV. I had cable and hated every minute of it. It was expensive and the customer service department was always rude. Every since I got DirecTV, I've never had any problems, their customer service is wonderful and it's cheaper. The only problems I've ever had is ice freezing onto the dish, which is our problem, and when a bad rain storm comes through it'll go out every now and then. Besides that, it's awesome. I also heard that Dish Network contracts people out to install their dishes where DirecTV has their own installers. Give it a try, I'm glad I did. They also have HD if you have a HD television.

- awesome picture quality

The person who tells you that DISH and DirecTV have essentially the same programming isn't exactly telling you the truth.
On sports, for example, DISH offers neither the NFL nor Major League Baseball packages. DirecTV has both.
And on HD programming, DISH has more now, but DirecTV will have approximately 100 new HD channels by the end of the year.
I chose DirecTV and would recommend it enthusiastically.
