Why do I see BOTH a Dish Network AND a Direct TV satellite dish on many houses?

Question:
Why is it that I'm ALWAYS SEEING 2 Elevated ROUND DISHES "On the Top" of a TALL POLE ? !

Answer:
Simple.EVERBODY hated the Direct TV signal getting lost in a mild rainstorm, so they switched to DISH Network.

Their Dish captures more signal
idk but if the dishes are on the roof they don't remove then coz then you gotta fix the roof they just leave it there so maybe they just switched services and just left the old dishes there
A lot of people switch services. I have always suspected that they switch back and forth every couple of years to take advantage of 'introductory' offers.

What surprises me, though, is the wide angle between where the dishes are pointed. All the satellites in geosynchronous orbit are over the equator, so it seems like the dishes would both point very close to South. But it looks like there's about 45 degrees difference between them!
Also, somtimes there are houses that people share, and they moved in at different times and each wants their own tv. You can get the equipment and install for free with a new service, so you do the other one.
