I have a samsung 46 hd tv hooked up to a comcast dvr/cable box via hdmi cable. also a sony reciever hooked up?

via digital optical cable. also a dvd/vhs combo via component cables.i get video and sound out of the dvd but no sound out of tv at cable channels.
Answer:
Three possibilities. The DVR's volume is turned down or defective, the HDMI cable is defective, or the TV's HDMI input is defective.
