Whats better direct tv or dish network?
Question:
Answer:
Depends on what you are looking for and trying to do?
First off DirecTV has more channels for cheaper than Dish. DirecTV has MORE HD channles if that is what you are looking for. DirecTV does not offer DirecTV Tivos for sale any longer since they started marketing their own DVR's but the DirecTV Tivos can still be purchased from a Third party and still be used on DirecTV system. The DirecTV Tivo's can be modified legally to allow the DirecTV Tivos to be networked so you can access your D Tivo over the internet, transfer the shows/movies from the D Tivo to a networked PC for editing and burning to DVD.
DirecTV customer service is very helpful which is one reason why I have stayed with them for over 7 years. I have heard and read alot of customer service problems with Dish Network.
I love my DirecTV Tivo's. I have 5 on my account!
direct tv

dish network
direct tv. dishes get all fuzzy or freeze when the wheathers bad outside.
cable
Hi,
I'd clearly vote for Dish cause:
- cheaper
- more channels and more variety
- awesome picture quality
You might check out http://www.dishnetworkbargains.com... - They currently run some promo with free Dish and DVR you might take advantage of. If you have any questions just call 'em up, they are professional and helpful.
Hope that helps.
Best wishes
Jenna
About the same, but it depends on your programming tastes. Their channel lineups are a little different, e.g. Dishnetwork will give you Encore (commercial free movies) channels in their America's 250 package (around $50) that's extra in Directv.
Dishnetwork has more Spanish and international packages, they have a few channels Directv doesn't even carry, FreeSpeech TV, University of California, University of Washington & University of Arizona channels.
Some of Dishnetwork's music channels come from Sirius, Directv's come from XM.
Choices, choices...
I had both. in my experience, Dishnetwork provided better customer service but on the other hand nickel & dimed you, for instance they would charge a fee for disconnecting some channels, I don't know if this is still true.
Good answers by all.
I've, personally, had both and I like Dish Network better.
Customer service, service in general, packages, programming,
the fact that using dual tuners saves $5-10 per month
(1 box runs 2 separate rooms, each capable of watching
different channels),
the way the guide looks, etc. etc.
However, I will say this...
95% of your issues depends on the quality of the installation done
by the technician.
If bad cable, connectors, and/or equipment were used, you
can bet there will be signal/technical issues. Not to mention
if the dish is pointed directly into trees.
Given this, it makes no difference which
company you go with. Neither will be reliable with faulty equipment
and shotty work.
Good luck in your search!
nether cable is Way better its worth the little extra $$
Dish is always better.
Sadly, they both suck in bad weather. Go with cable.
