I ordered Charter Explorer 3250HD box. I hook it up with my HD-TV. How come the channels does not look HD?

Question:
Do have to call Charter customer service? I also have HD-DVD & I know what HD means. I have Hitachi HDTV with 1080i resolution. Now with the Charter HD box & it does not look like HD? It look like a normal picture?

Answer:
I'm not familiar with Charter, but only HD channels will come in HD. Even on an HD box, most channels look like they normally do.

You should have special HD channels available. What happens when you tune into those channels? You may need to call yur provider to ensure those channels are available to you. I would think you could at least try and tune in to them to see if they come in or not.
For what ever reason, even though you are renting an HD box Charter has the DVI output defaulted to standard definition. You need to get into your Explorer box setup menu and switch the resolution that it uses for the DVI output.
