My mom wants to buy a new TV, and she wants it to be an HDTV. When we get the HD package, will it affect or cable channels. Like, right now, 131 is The N--will channel 131 stay the same when we switch?
Because not all our TVs are HD compatible, like the one in my room. And I like our cable package now

It basically depends on your cable service. I have directv, and with it hd channels are in a seperate section, and the channels only show up on my hdtv. The standard tvs just have the same programming as before. Incidentally, the nice thing about DTV is the HD access is only another $9.99. Check your provider and see how the service is offered.
